Summary

Prime Minister's Question Time, also referred to as PMQs, takes place every Wednesday the House of Commons sits. It gives MPs the chance to put questions to the Prime Minister or a nominated minister. In most cases, the session starts with a routine 'open question' from an MP about the Prime Minister's engagements. MPs can then ask supplementary questions on any subject, often one of current political significance. The Leader of the Opposition, Sir Keir Starmer, asks six questions and the leader of the second largest opposition party asks two. Mr Speaker, the ban on LGBT people serving in our military until the year 2000 was an appalling failure of the British state, decades behind the law of this land.

and I committed to them that the government would publish a comprehensive cross-departmental

suicide prevention strategy. That was over a year ago and still no strategy. Now I know that

if he would commit his government to publishing this strategy within days of Parliament's
