Mr Speaker, this morning I had meetings with ministerial colleagues and others.

In addition to my duties in this House, I shall have further such meetings later today.

Mr Speaker, my constituents in Wrexham welcome the announcement by the Chief Medical Offices of Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England to reduce the UK

COVID alert level from four to three. Indeed, through my work at the Rexumala Hospital,

I have seen a reduction in the number of COVID positive cases needing to be treated. So does

the Prime Minister agree with me? This UK-wide approach is what works and we need

to continue to do this to beat the pandemic?

Yes.

Well, Mrs Speaker, first of all, can I personally pay tribute to her for the shifts that

she has put in throughout the pandemic?

And of course to thank all her colleagues at the Rex and Marla Hospital, which I know, and to

say that that is indeed the way in which we will beat the pandemic by working together across

all four nations of our country.

We now come to the leader of the opposition, the right on Royal Kirstama.

Yesterday the government announced the next stage of easing lockdown restrictions.

If that plans to work, and we want it to work, we need an effective track, trace and isolate system.

The Prime Minister promised a world-beating system would be in place by the 1st of June.

The latest figures from yesterday's press conference

hosted by the Prime Minister showed that 33,000 people are estimated to have COVID-19 in England.
