Questions to the Prime Minister? Dr Rupa Huck.

Number one, please, Mr. Speaker.

The Prime Minister.

Mr. Speaker, the whole House will be shocked by the appalling news that 39 bodies have been discovered in a lorry container in Essex. This is an unimaginable tragedy

and truly heartbreaking. I know that the thoughts and prayers of all members are with those who lost

their lives and their loved ones. I'm receiving regular updates and the Home Office will work

closely with Essex Police as we establish exactly what has happened and

my honourable friend, my right honourable friend, the Home Secretary, will be making an oral statement

immediately after these questions.

Mr Speaker, this morning I had meetings with ministerial colleagues and others.

In addition to my duties in this House, I shall have further such meetings later today.

Mr Speaker, can I completely associate myself with the remarks the Prime Minister made

about the tragedy in Essex?

I don't normally do that, but on this occasion, I completely am with him.

Good to see the PM at PMQs.

In nearly 100 days, I think until today, he'd only ever done one. The Prime Minister

has, we all know, a long list of shortcomings. So could he do something? So could he do something? So please, could he do something about one that he does have some control of and get rid of Dominic Cummings?

Well, Mr. Speaker, I think the – I'll try to reply with the generosity of spirit that she would expect from me and just say that I receive excellent advice for a wide range of advisors and officials.

And it is the role of advisors to advise and government to decide.

And I take full responsibility for everything that this government does.
