Number one, Mr. Speaker.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, I am sure that the whole House will want to join me in condemning the appalling and cowardly attack in Christchurch on Friday. There can be

absolutely no place in our societies for the vile ideology that drives hatred and spreads fear.

I spoke to Prime Minister Ardenne on Sunday. I told her that we stood with New Zealand at this

time and we would provide whatever assistance was needed. I would also

like to take the opportunity to thank the emergency services for their handling of the terrorist

incident in Stanwell on Saturday. I'm sure members from across the House will want to join me

in sending our thoughts to the man who was injured. And I would like to send my deepest sympathies

to the families of those killed

and those injured in Utrecht on Monday. We're in regular contact with the Dutch local authorities

and are standing by to offer whatever assistance is required. And Mr Speaker, I'm sure that

members will want to join me in expressing my deepest shock at the loss and devastation caused

by the cyclone in Mozambique, Malawi and

Zimbabwe.

We have made, as I think has been made clear by the Secretary of State in international

development questions.

We have made £6 million of UK aid available to help meet the immediate needs of people
