Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

I know that members across the whole House will wish to join me in offering our deepest

condolences to the family and friends of Michael Martin, latterly Lord Martin of Springburn,

who died earlier

this week. He served as Speaker for nearly nine years and I am sure members will remember

his sense of public service, his commitment to his constituency in Glasgow and his good

humour, and I particularly remember him for the courtesy which he always showed me.

Mr Speaker, this morning I had meetings

with ministerial colleagues and others. In addition to my duties in this House, I shall have

further such meetings later today. Vera Hobhouse. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Upskirting is the

vile practice of taking a photo under a woman's skirt without her consent. This is neither

a specific nor sexual offence under the current law in England her consent. This is neither a specific nor sexual

offence under the current law in England and Wales. I've been working closely with Gina

Martin, who's been campaigning to change this for a month and her lawyer, to produce

a private member's bill to make upskirting a specific crime under the Sexual Offences

Act 2003. Both of us has joined us here today.
