Questions to the Prime Minister?

This morning I had meetings with ministerial colleagues and others, and in addition to my duties in this House, I shall have further such meetings later today.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Last week in Aldridge Brown Hills I visited laser form manufacturing

and potclays who supplied clay for the Tower of London Poppies. Would my right honourable

friend agree with me that supporting small businesses and the further increase in personal

income tax allowance which came in this month shows that unlike

Labour we on this side of the House are the party of enterprise and aspiration and believe

in enabling hardworking people to keep more of the money they earn.

Let me join her in congratulating the firm that she mentioned. She's absolutely right

that it is small and medium sized businesses that predominantly will be providing the jobs of the

future. And we want people to keep more of their own money to spend as they choose.

And that's why the historic move last week to an £11,000 personal allowance means that people

will have gained by 2018 they'll be paying

about a thousand pounds less per taxpayer and we would have taken four million of the

lowest paid people out of tax altogether that's the action of a progressive conservative
