Thank you, Mr. Speaker. This morning I had meetings with ministerial colleagues and others.

In addition to my duties in this House, I shall have further such meetings later today.

I previously worked in an NHS service which the Coalition Government gifted to Virgin Care,

who are now seeking another contract covering my constituency.

Amongst many unethical practices I witnessed Virgin imposed system of double appointments

forcing patients to have unnecessary extra consultations before surgery,

boosting their profits at the expense of the taxpayer and of patient safety.

Is this acceptable? And if not, what is the Prime Minister prepared to do about it?

Of course, what we want to see in the provision of local services is the best services possible for local people.

But the Honourable Lady talks about outsourcing of services in the NHS.

I have to say to her that the party that actually put greater privatisation into the NHS

was not this party, it was the Labour Party.
