Well, first of all, Mr. Speaker, I want to welcome the new MP for Batley and Spen

and commend her for her dignity in standing up to intimidation during the campaign. I do agree with my

right honourable friend about the very divisive nature of the leaflet that she talks about,

and politicians should not be stoking division. Instead, we should be working together to unite

Relative to average working wage, the UK state pensions are the worst in Europe.

Well, for the WASPi women scandal where the government didn't do anything,

and now they're going to take £1.2 billion from the mine workers' pension scheme,

this government doesn't solve inequality. It adds

inequality, doesn't it?

Well, Mr Speaker, I wholeheartedly reject a comment by the Honourable Gentleman. The

state pension has gone up dramatically under the triple lock by £2,000 since 2010 by this

coalition and Conservative Government.

We have a system that is taking forward real change and making a real difference to

state pensioners.
