Yes and no. It's just not that much of a surprise. I think that's the thing. I think if I had

had genuine expectations that United were going to win the

tournament this year that somehow we'd done what Sir Alex said in the summer and

we're working on a way to beat Barcelona and progress to that next level then then I might be more disappointed

but the fact is we have been pretty rubbish all the way through this tournament I

think our form over the last six or seven weeks since the city game has been abysmal a lot of

papering over the cracks and and maybe this is a wake-up call maybe maybe this

will turn into a good thing maybe that's positive ed well done it's it's a nice rare appearance for the

lad yeah I don't believe it by the way actually I think I think what we all

here instead is there's no value in the market I believe in the kids I've got excellent players it was just

bad luck you know we're a bit complacent yada yada yada yada yada.

There's two tracks here do we believe that somehow it's just a bit of bad luck and all

those factors I just mentioned have contributed to United going out it's just a

one-off thing and this is an evolving team that is going to get it better or do we believe that the Glazer family have slowly sucked out the ability for United to compete?

What is it? 580 million pounds lost to the club over the last six years and as a result

there are structural problems in the United Squad that need fixing and it probably

can only be fixed by adding to our admittedly very good group of youngsters some real quality.
