Summary

*Apologies for some slight sound issues this week*

Dolly's lost her passport and Michael Gove's nose is feeling regretful. We talk Sally Challen, humpback whales and why sleep apps could make your sleeping worse.

And we deep-dive into pride month and discuss the fallacy that is the proposed straight pride march, particularly in the wake of recent homophobic hate crimes in the UK. Also, the euthanasia that never was: after the false news story about 17 year old Dutch teenager, Noa Pothoven, did the rounds, we discuss the complexity and implications of euthanasia, social media and the suicide contagion.

Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes. Dolly, you haven't had your finest few hours, happy?

0:24.8

I've had a disastrous four days really. Let me set the scene for you. Friday I had to

0:31.8

specutaculally shit today like technicaler layers of shit throughout the whole day and then

0:40.4

thought it's fine Saturday I'm heading to Ireland for Boris Festival my favorite literary

0:45.9

festival I'm going to speak to two talks and go listen to lots of people, meet lots of lovely

0:51.7

people have a wonderful time. Guess up early Saturday morning, have a shower, pack, order

0:56.8

cab, couch-pasting outside, go to get my passport, passport isn't there. Rang nearly everyone I

1:04.7

know who was all they were all asleep because it was Saturday morning to check whether they have

1:10.2

seen my passport. I was aware something was up my book of test game, have we taken our passport

1:15.5

and meeting so easily and I was like oh no I think it's happened. So then I was like right I need to

1:22.2

just get on that flight and it's it's you know not a hugely far-flung flight so there must be a way

1:27.8

of doing this so I checked with Erlingus and they said you can have Laura's waiting for me at

1:32.1

Heathrow and she said I suppose we're going to Erlingus we checked online you can have photo

1:37.3

work photo ID so I decided I'm completely I didn't sleep at all Friday night so I decided it

1:46.4

with very little sleep the best solution would be to first ring the Sunday Times and see if I could

1:51.7

go to the Sunday Times office and get a photo ID they told me that they couldn't do that because

1:58.4

the security people weren't there so they couldn't print it out into a card and I'm also just a

2:03.2

freelancer so they couldn't do that for me. I then decided to go to the BBC

2:07.9

eight in the morning get to the Wogan House start sobbing to the receptionist. I was quite

2:18.6

generous with my description of my connection to the BBC and I said I'm a free dancer for the BBC

2:24.4

by which I mean I've been a guest on Steve Wright in the afternoon and women's hour once and
