In the previous chapters, Elizabeth is welcomed warmly by Mr and Mrs Collins to Hansford and she is surprised to see how

comfortable her friend is in her new marriage.

Soon after, Elizabeth and the Gardner's are invited to dine at Rosings, Lady Catherine's

Grand Estate.

There Lady Catherine dominates the conversation, criticizing the

Bennett's sister's upbringing and lack of accomplishments.

It is not long before Sir William leaves and Mr Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam arrive at Rosings, paying a short visit to Elizabeth and Charlotte at the Parsonage.
