Hey, everyone. Do you ever wonder whether or not it is a truth universally acknowledged that a

single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife? So do we. Today's book is

Pride and Prejudice by John Grisham. I'm Kellett Erskine. I'm a comic, a father, and I found out

in my late 20s that when I brought up that I was a fan of Jane Austen novels,

it was generally impressive to women, which made me wish I would have done that when I was a teenager.

And I'm David Vance. I too tried to use Jane Austen to get with women, but they rejected me

because of my lack of fortune.

I didn't do to try and get with them. That sounds a little more aggressive. I would just bring it up sort of nonchalantly in conversation.

Wait, how do you bring up Jane Austen nonchalantly? Easily. By saying, first, you say, so what's your favorite book?

And then you just sort of wait for them to be done talking.

And then you say, I love sense and sensibility.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is a classic novel about the love lives of four sisters, plus Mary.

But Mary doesn't need pity. In real

life, she married Elon Musk twice. That's 13 billion pounds a year. All right. And I want to give

another quick, my own explanation. Pride and Prejudice, I don't want people to get confused. This is the book

that was written after Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

It was very innovative of her to take out the zombies. I didn't expect to see that adaptation.

And without further ado, here are our favorite lessons from Pride and Prejudice.

Lesson 1. Character Comedy doesn't age as much.

So some of the best character jokes in the book are from Mrs. Bennett.

So there's this moment where she's talking to Bingley and she says,

The Lucases are a very good sort of girls.
