For the next two days, Joyce is going to teach on a topic that can elicit some groans. But if we want to mature spiritually, we really need this. The Bible says that God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Pride harms our walk with Christ. When our heart is

prideful, and let's be honest, all of us have this inside of us, then we just don't give God

the credit that we need to. We mistreat people, perhaps looking down on them, thinking that we're

better than they are. And it can also be much more subtle, impacting areas in our life quietly and squelching our growth.

We need to take this issue of pride seriously.

And I know that it is one that God is constantly working on in me.

So as you watch these next two days, take some notes, do some self-examination, and let God work

in your life.

I think that sometimes we don't think enough about how important it is to be humble and to not let ourselves get into pride.

And I think there's a lot of ways that we can be proud and not even realize that we're being

proud.

But I want to start off by telling you, and I'll read you a few scriptures,

the Bible says that God hates pride.

He doesn't just dislike it.

He hates it.

It's impossible to have an argument without pride.

You can't.
