Welcome back to Through the Smoke, a Miami Hurricanes podcast here on the 24-7 Sports Network.

It's been a while, but I'm back. It's Andrew Ivins with my man,

David Lake. David, how you doing? Doing well. How is the great state of Alabama?

Yeah. Spent, I think it was the past three or four days in Montgomery, Alabama,

covering the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game for 24-7 sports.

That's kind of one of the reasons why I couldn't record a podcast till Friday,

so we're taping this on Friday.

But it was fun, not trying to take a shot at anyone in Alabama,

but I think one of my favorite moments was when I went down to the front desk in my hotel.

I was staying in downtown Montgomery.

And I asked the concierge.

I'm like, hey, is there a coffee shop anywhere around here?

And she goes, there's a Waffle House down the street.

So that was my yellow hammer state moment right there.

You had some good weather while you were there too, I bet.

Yeah.

It was like first night of practice, 37 degrees, I think.

I couldn't feel my hands at one point.

But I'm back.

Not a lot of Miami stuff to talk about coming out of that was really there just kind of

for my new role.
