Hello friends this is Nick calling in from Caracas Venezuela. I'm on my way to the

south to the state of Bolivar which is a province on the border of Guyana in Brazil and I'm going to observe indigenous

elections at Marapui which is a indigenous community of the Pemon people.

They will be selecting delegates and representatives for the National Assembly in Venezuela.

And it's an historic election not only in defiance of US

intervention and just in the last couple of years with two failed coup attempts and

genocidal sanctions.

I hope to highlight what is going on

within the indigenous communities

as well as the indigenous struggles

and some of the challenges they face under the blockade.
