People don't want fiction.

They actually want an op-ed.

So when you give them a character who's not, you know, cute and charming and woke,

they don't know what to do and they dismiss it.

And again, you know, for that I think we can blame academia and a host of other factors.

But that's genre.

People don't understand the difference between an op-ed,

a piece of investigative journalism, a book review as opposed to an op-ad, a piece of investigative journalism, a book review,

as opposed to an op-ad, for instance. Yeah, a takedown. A takedown, right, right, right, right.

And part of it, you know, it's Nathan's takedowns are probably our most popular articles. People

love them. And Nathan's takedowns are great and they're well researched and he wields

snark very well. But it's, but it's also a toned thing. People like the takedown. They like the

viciousness and they like the anger. You know, stuff we write about housing or immigration rights,

harder sell for people. And I think, I think have to ask like why do they react so well?

Why do they why are they so into like trauma porn again very popular? Not one thing,

not something that we published, but something that's very popular. Why do people like trauma

porn? Why do people like takedowns? Again, a takedown can be justified. Tateon can be good,

but why do people like it? And they don't like it? And I think it's important to unpack.

What is it that you like?

Why do you like it?

What's it doing for you?

And is it doing something that's positive for you?
