God has not promised you a soulmate. He promises to make you complete in Christ, not in another human being.

The truth is God does have someone for everyone, okay? His name is Jesus.

He is the one that completes us. He is the one that was sent to complete you.

It's not a person. This is truth. Like Paul wrote the majority of the New Testament.

He walked in deep intimacy in the Lord. He tells us to imitate him. He actually tells us that it's better to be single.

So what do we do with that? And then go tell someone on Instagram that there's someone for everyone.

Paul never had a wife. He never had a wife. And yet he had one of the

most grand assignments and callings of Christ that a person could possibly have. And he wasn't

lacking anything because of his lack of a wife. Because Christ was enough. This might sound harsh,

but you know what? Knowing the truth sets you free, God has not promised you a marriage,

but he has promised you completion in himself. He has promised to make you his bride.

The soulmate lie, it elevates romance to a fairy tale rather than an honoring covenant, which is what biblically romance is. Biblically, what marriage is.

What the soulmate doctrine does is it feeds a Disney version of marriage that is ultimately rooted in self-fulfillment rather than self-sacrifice,

which is what the Bible says real biblical covenant is. the soulmate doctrine places expectations on a spouse or a future spouse that they were never meant to carry and you were never meant to hold them to.

You might not think this is a big deal.

Why are we talking about this?

Because it's deceiving both Christians and non-Christians alike, and it's actually

distracting them from their truth, from the truth that we don't need a soulmate, we need a savior.

If God's will is for you to be married, what you need in that case is not a soulmate, it's actually

a spouse in covenant. When two become one flesh in

covenant, that's what the Bible says. It is a powerful reflection of the gospel, but then
