Hi,

Yazzi co-host of Red Power Hour.

It's been brought to my attention that I made an error in something I said for an introduction

to an episode, a bonus episode of Red Power Hour

that came out earlier this week about the

ethnic fraud and pretending issue. In that introduction, I named Dr. Julie Proudfit as an ethnic

fraud. I want to apologize to Dr. Proudfit

for that statement.

And I appreciate folks who have let us know on Twitter

that that is in fact not true.

In my mind, I was simply thinking about the things that had come out in Indians.com in the San Francisco

Chronicle as well as the statement that was issued by Dr. Elizabeth Hoover about questionable

claims to indiguity and I had just lumped them

together as something that was newsworthy and I definitely should have been more

careful in terms of in terms of the differences between those stories.

So again, I want to apologize to Dr. Proudfit

and apologize to folks for my error in judgment

and to thank folks again for letting me know

about the error. But I also did want to let folks know that in the

episode itself my co-host Elena Ortiz and I pretty much only focus on a general analysis of the Pretendian issue and when we did bring up specific people or specific cases

we focused almost entirely on the revelations about Marie Cruz who is also known as the Sheen Littlefeather.
