Hi folks, I thought we would talk about the Barbie movie. Now before we begin, I'm going to assume a few things.

One that you have seen the Barbie movie. I will be talking about the plot in detail,

Someone like me who was never invested in Barbie doesn't really care about Barbie and so is approaching this from the perspective of an outsider who is relatively disinterested in the subject.

For me, Barbies are just for girls, right?

never the twain would meet and so I'm not an expert on Barbie itself

avoid talking about a lot of the discussion that's gone around the film. I may do a follow-up perhaps with someone else to discuss that because that is interesting in and of itself.

But what I thought was most fascinating about the Barbie film is how there seemed to be themes embedded in the film.

It's a deeply political film though themes embedded in it that seem to have been missed by most people.
