Yeah, I mean, like Red Star has been, you know, a little bit more vocal about our opinions lately.

We kind of realized that we were, people were just projecting their politics onto us because we weren't super loud about what exactly we believed in.

So we decided to be a little bit louder on stuff.

And yeah, the ballot line question, the party question, all these things are kind of always like roiling over within DSA.

And so, you know, the typical lines that you will get, you'll have people who are arguing for a, what's called a clean break, which is never running any politician ever on the Democratic ballot line ever.

And then people who are for the dirty break being, yeah, like we will, you know,

run some people as politicians on the Democratic ballot line and then eventually transition our

way out of that, but it doesn't have to be this like one moment where we stopped doing that

all together. And so there is this great panel on this lately where Red Star had somebody, as well as a bunch of other caucuses.

It was like a Red and Roses person, all across like the scale of people on basically the ballot line question.

And Red Star's position is basically it's probably not the right question to ask.

I think Americans are so conditioned into thinking that like a party means a ballot line.

And so in order to establish a party, you must have a ballot line.

That's the only mode that we can think of this in.

But like a party should be like a large and internally democratic organization that can enact the will of its membership.

And a party line, a ballot line, rather, is just one tactic in all of this.

Having a ballot line can be a thing that is useful.

It doesn't have to be a total necessity in order to create something.

And so our position is a little bit nuanced on it, basically.

I think we fall more in the dirty break category,

but basically just the idea of discussing a ballot line right now

is kind of just divisive,
