This season I am excited to be reading you a highly requested story and a personal favorite of mine.

The Great Gatsby.

with lots of different types of stories to lull you into a deep sleep.

The following is a preview to give you an idea of what to expect from this season.

The Great Gatsby was Fitzgerald's third novel and was published in 1925.

It didn't garner immediate success, but is now considered an American classic, even often referred to as the great American novel.

It is read by students and literature enthusiasts around the world, with many people holding it dear to their hearts as their favorite book of all time, which is why we were so keen to feature it here on the bookshelf.

It is a novel filled with scenes of decadence and headonism that is synonymous with New York and the Jazz Age, following the story of a self-made millionaire

and his pursuit of his long lost love. However Fitzgerald does not shy away from the backdrop of a country facing

many other struggles, societally, financially and politically.

I would like to highlight here that unlike some of our more innocent books on the shelf, this one does explore a number of adult themes.

While we always endeavor to remove anything too startling or upsetting, we cannot rewrite the plot.

So with that in mind, I want to let you know

that this season will include themes

that may upset some listeners, namely sexism, racism and domestic abuse.
