Good evening and welcome to the Sleepy Bookshel. This season we'll be reading a selection

of stories published between 1903 and 1908 from the book Japanese Fairy Tales by Yee

Theodore Ozaki. We know our listeners are as unique as our novels and lucky for you

our bookshelf is varied with lots of different types of stories to lull you into a deep sleep.

The following is a preview to give you an idea of what to expect from this season.

Japanese Fairy Tales is a collection of fantastical stories translated and adapted into English

by our bilingual author. There are many tales in the book but we've chosen five to share with you.

The first is about a country boy who makes friends with animals as a wealth of hidden potential.

In the second a couple is blessed with a magical daughter who glows like moonlight.

The third story shows how a family cobs with loss and the power ever reflection in a beautiful mirror.

In the fourth story a man travels to the realm of the dragon king of the sea to retrieve his

brother's lost fish her and will end with a story about a boy who springs from a peach and takes

a band of animals to rid the land of demons. We really hope you'll join us for this season.
