and it is intriguing this idea of like, well, if I'm, if I'm earning a lot of money and I want to

donate it, I want to make sure it's effective. So that makes sense to me. Yeah. But I guess my

question of like how it works with the socialist worldview is that it seems like it's kind of oriented

towards change coming through like good ideas and good

deeds but socialism is about class struggle yeah so i um do you think those are you can square those at

all yeah you know it's it's a really good question um i think of them is almost like

just approaching different problems with different toolkits.

And I think like both sets of problems are like really important.

And so like I think that economic justice is important. And I think that like changing who has power in our economy is an important thing to do.

And like for, you know, policymakers, I'd like to see them move in a more economically left-wing direction.

I also think that like the risk of nuclear war or the risk of somebody creating like a super pandemic.

Like it's just not something that's being prioritized sufficiently by like any political

group.

And I also like effective altruists might like have been resistant to being like

involved in like political parties in an explicit way because they don't want to be

perceived as partisan because like a Republican will be president

like half the time. And you want to have like somebody who really, really is focused on like

making sure we don't all get nuked or all die from a super pandemic, like able to get a job

in that kind of administration. And so like there's like been this conscious like arms length

kind of thing. It's been happening. And,

um, yeah, I, I, and I guess there's like this other kind of like elephant in the room, which is like,

effective altruism has been financed in, in large part by like, uh, a billionaire philanthropy.
