Former Minneapolis Police Office Derek Chauvin (along with three other officers) is charged in connection with the homicide of George Floyd. In the first installment of this daily video log, I take on a few of the issues that will be addressed on day one of jury selection, scheduled to begin on Monday, March 8, 2021. There are many tactical and legal issues surrounding the trial. 1:08.0	And then my hope is to do a short daily video, maybe in addition to my more typical legal
1:16.0	analysis video of the day, we'll see how ambitious I really am about trying to post two videos

1:24.1	But I want to try to take on what's going on each and every day in the George Floyd
1:29.6	murder trial, because it is important indeed, it's historic.
1:34.6	What we all saw on that nearly nine minute videotape was sickening and it felt like a culmination
1:41.4	of what we have been seeing.
1:44.0	Police officers do to our black brothers and sisters over and over and over again.
1:49.2	And I will always hasten to add not all police officers are bad or prejudice or engage in
1:54.7	excessive force, but we've seen so many instances of it now.
