I will strongly argue this is not, localism is not an affluent thing.

It's actually rare.

Like, the places that have kind of the least are the ex-urban sprawl places.

You know, like, like a lot of these kind of what people joke about as like the like cheesecake factory Trump voters.

Like there's no, it's all sprawl.

There's no local pride. There's like

the people who are raw, raw America, you know, the places that have a lot of local pride,

like ethnic enclaves have a lot of local pride. There's a recent study. I've been actually

looking for studies on this just for kind of my general talking about this all the time.

And there was a study out of Philadelphia where gentrification,

this is one of the studies where the study is something you already knew,

but they just now, now we can have a study.

Gentrification lowers community bonds.

Right.

You know, social capital in a place before gentrification is much higher than after gentrification. And so, like, the places

that are called supposedly by others sneering, like run down places that should have their

sweet green in Verizon store. And, you know, those are places where people love them. They love their

neighbor. That's why gentrification is experienced as violence.

It's the violence of like a local place being bulldozed.

So I'm not going to buy that it's kind of a stuff white people like thing.

Localism is not a stuff white people like thing.

That makes sense.
