very critical in the book of social democracy,

which he sees as a commitment to laws of the market.

And he says,

everywhere it's been transformed into a zealous destroyer

of the social gains for which it once fought.

Many thus accused social democracy

of betraying its own historic program.

They denounce it for doggedly applying measures wholly at odds with its own promises.

For instance, under Hollande's presidency, where, you know, he passed through an anti-labor law.

Even if social democracy were to return to its old program on shown rights,

it would still be obsolete and unsustainable.

So we need a new system, but as he says in the book, he doesn't really know what that system

should even be called or fully what it would look like.
