Because this taps into the very important element of the conversation we're having today,

where a large part of a job being a bullshit job is you doing the job and thinking in your own brain,

this doesn't need to exist.

Meaning two people can have the same job, and it can be a bullshit job for one of them and not for the other one.

This gets into the function of jobs, which is as a social utility, that it's a vehicle to provide purpose in somebody's life.

And so sometimes you're building a bridge and you're done and something exists that wasn't there when

you started and you feel a great satisfaction from that and then sometimes i'll give an example i

had a job in 2014 when i just started comedy to fill out websites that had nothing on them purely for the purpose of getting clicks

on Google because the CEO had discovered a loophole in search engine optimization that would get

his sites listed on top so we could run ads to websites

with nothing on them.

So.

Yeah, it's bullshit.

It's debatably bullshit.

And as someone who was there, you know, this was a team of like 10 people, five of which

were paid interns, which I was.

And I used to, I got $10 an hour.

And then I got a $20. You could get up to $20 in Seameless a day once in the middle.

So like, because if you just order something on Seamless in 2014, you're probably not going to pay 20 bucks if you just get like a sandwich.

It's probably going to be like 10 or 12 bucks, which is inefficiently using the money you're being paid because a lot of the money like percentage wise is going to the seamless bill.

So what I would do is order double meals every day at around 1 p.m.
