Hey, everyone, this is Paris with a not-so tech-wont-safe-us update, but one that you might be interested in nonetheless.

If you've been listening to the show for a while, you will know that I am a Canadian.

And especially recently, Canada has been under attack from Donald Trump, in particular, with tariff threats, with threats to Canada's sovereignty and trying to turn it into a 51st state. Well, right now,

Canada is actually entering into a federal election campaign. Canadians will go to the polls on

April 28th. And to try to make sense about everything that is going to happen in that five-week

election campaign, yes, it is so much shorter than the elections in the United States.

I'm doing a special series with my friend and fellow journalist Rachel Gilmore, where every

week we will be breaking down what happened on the campaign trail that week, what it means for

the campaign and for Canadians, and the significance of this election for Canada's future as it tries to

not just reassess its relationship to the United States, but its broader economic, social,

and maybe even cultural model in the years ahead. Who are going to be its friends? And what is it

going to do if the United States is no longer a

reliable partner as so many Canadians and Canadian governments have assumed for so many
