This is John Batchelor. My colleague Evan Ellis traveled to Argentina and comes back

0:05.7

of the report on the economy that is reviving. Fast enough? Needs foreign investment. Needs

0:13.0

structure and confidence for people to bring the money they've hidden out of hiding and put it

0:19.6

into circulation. Ne needs an improvement in the

0:22.4

poverty rate.

0:24.5

Is Evan to give us a positive picture, but not Rosie, moving?

0:30.8

More of this tonight.

0:32.5

0:37.2

So the financials are going

0:38.9

forward more. There's indication that there are some major investment deals. So, for example,

0:44.6

0:50.7

infrastructure and other deals. Certainly in lithium and other mining sectors, there's a lot coming on.

0:57.5

1:05.5

1:10.5

1:12.2

fundamentals, you know, with respect to the liquidity, the Argentine reserves, the IMF deal,

1:18.6

that kind of creates the basis for a return of some of the investment and a return of some of

1:24.5

the cash that people, so to speak, scrolled away under their mattresses

1:27.5

over the years. The fundamentals seem to be there. There's some indication that spending is

1:33.3

coming back on, but again, it's been a little bit softer than I think, frankly, some

1:37.4

people within the Malay administration would have liked.
