A big issue this year is like who is willing to hold Mayor Frye accountable.

He's got all this power and he's got the council majority on his side.

Fry's still going to be able to veto some stuff.

But what are some things where he could potentially, best case scenario anyway, be overridden

on going into 2024?

So right now the council is kind of holding them accountable on like the new third precinct site, saying, no, you can't just have whatever you want here.

You drive in Minneapolis, you pay the equivalent of the minimum wage.

He vetoed that, and he negotiated a side deal with Uber.

So I don't know how we verify that side deal.

Also, Lyft wasn't included.

It seems like not the way to run a government is your mayor negotiating deals with private companies.

Maybe just let the city council do some legislating.
