The dominant relationship is the U.S., even though we were once a colony of Britain, and

the reason for that is military power.

But this is relevant to a book I read slash miniseries I watched called A Very British Coup,

which I would highly recommend.

It's written by a guy, Chris Mullen, who was a journalist in the 80s.

Later on, he actually became a member of parliament and was a sort of a Blairite.

I mean, if you want to get really granular here,

I guess he comes from the Tribune tradition

on the British left.

But he says, to this day,

he still says, oh yeah,

Tony Blair was a good prime minister

except for the Iraq War.

So he's kind of the opposite

of the soft left people.

He stepped down over that.

But was very sympathetic to Corbin as a person, but was not a Corbinista.

He basically for the reason that he didn't think he could actually do anything as prime minister.

And I hate to say now that there's probably something to that.

And a lot of that is elucidated in his work, a very British coup, which was written in the early 80s,

when it seemed as if Tony Ben and the hard left

of the Labor Party was going to come into power.
