Hello everyone and welcome to another set of member episodes that I'm releasing here on the main feed.

Over the next four weeks, you will hear four episodes that cover the early interwar years as they relate to the navies around the world.

The naval situation after the First World War would culminate in the Washington Naval Treaty,

a treaty that would completely change the landscape of any future war at sea.

Nothing would have a greater impact on Second World War navies, naval combat, and naval theory.

I am releasing these four episodes to give myself a bit of breathing room to prepare for the next series of mainline episodes,

which will cover the naval war from the start of the war in September 1939 until the invasion of Norway in April 1940.

Hello everyone and welcome to the first members-only episode of the History of the Second

World War podcast. This is the first part of

a three-part series on the Royal Navy, the Imperial Japanese Navy, and then the Washington Naval Conference

at the end of 1921. This episode will focus on the Royal Navy. The years after the First World

War would see nations all over the world uncertain about the future.

This uncertainty would come in many forms, but one of them was about the future of their navies.

All of this uncertainty would lead first to plans for massive construction of new ships after the war.
