What you all see right there is an experimental aircraft that inside of which is a six-year-old boy

who got into that aircraft not that long ago and accidentally launched it.

Well, we're doing something a little different on this episode.

We're not talking about a movie.

We're talking about 90 minutes of cable

news footage we watched. But specifically, we're talking about a historic event. One of the

proto-viral events, one of the events that shaped the reality that we're in right now. I believe

it was Andy Warhol, who said in the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes. But for the

balloon boy,

it was at least 90. You brought this back to my attention. You know, kingdoms have risen and

fallen. Well, I had, I had balloons on the brain because of this whole like Chinese spy balloon.

Yeah, the alleged Chinese spy balloon, which like, you know, I think the US State Department put out something

today where they're like, oh, well, it has some kind of thing where they can, like, they're

monitoring communications technology and they could hack certain communications technologies.

Look, I have no idea, obviously.

I just think, it seems like there's been an attempt to sort of stoke a certain panic around

this, like, balloon, which like like I'm not really clear on like

what a balloon what you can do with a balloon that like I mean they have Google Maps in China like

they can presumably just like go on there to like look at where things are so balloons have been on

the brain lately there's no there's no more to it than this except that you, I think that this alleged Chinese spy balloon is an example of one of these things that like, maybe it was a different week.

Maybe if the alchemy of the news cycle was a little different.

Maybe the balloon would have become a viral thing.
