Now, I don't think we've talked very much about the midterm elections on this show, but Will,

I assume you have real clear politics.

Your homepage, you're refreshing it every day to look at the polls and the different Senate

races and stuff.

You're following it very closely.

I will check to see if Dr. Oz wins and if the guy from the 1517 to Paris wins.

Those are the two races that I'm really emotionally invested in.

So, I mean, I think in brief, if people have been following this, I would say the conventional

wisdom on the midterms has changed maybe twice. I think in the summer, there was a belief that

the Democrats might actually win or, at the very

least, not do as badly as is very typical of a governing party to do at this stage of things,

you know, halfway through a presidential term, largely because of Roversus Wade, I think,

because of a well, a well-founded sense of dangerous Republican overreach. That sort of

overturned what had been the conventional wisdom before, that, you know, the Democrats were going to have

a more standard midterm, you know, not very good. And now I think things have shifted again.

And I mean, my strong sense is somebody who's kind of, you know, Jacobin's kind of had me diving into the midterms a little bit more than I had been.

And my strong sense is that they're not going to go very well for the Democrats at all.

That, you know, they're probably going to lose the House and that they may lose the Senate as well.
