But my favorite scene in the movie where the movie just, like, grabbed me, like, I don't know, 15 or 20 minutes in, was this barbecue on the White House lawn where I think it's like secretly a brilliant scene.

Because, you know, it's, yeah, it's barbecue on the White House lawn.

And, like, she's, she's chatting it up with Carl Rove, who later in the movie, like, she gives him a hug.

She's talking to George Bush, who I notice, you don't, it's amazing.

I mean, you don't know what's going on at the time, but he's very interested in somebody on her left shoulder, and he's, like, very familiar with them.

And then he turns to her. And then when the camera pivots slightly, you realize that, you know, Bush being a good politician has talked to the person next to Alexandra first, who is Nancy? Because she's a lot more

important. But Pelosi, a Pelosi, that is, is a lot more comfortable in this scene. And she's just

kind of talking to these people. And this is where I think she is quite effective in a way as a filmmaker,

not in what the film is trying to do, but in something else. I too would like to come to

Alexandra Pelosi's defense, not as a political theorist, but as a filmmaker. She captures moments

that Hollywood studios with their union crews never could.

Well, yeah, I mean, this scene could not be captured by any other person in this way.

Like, this is where I think the films are sort of accidentally very profound because throughout

this movie for like, I don't know, 95% of it, you know, she's

partaking in this kind of spectacle of conflict in these like, quote unquote, democratic,

you know, primary process where like, you know, what you don't see in this movie, you see all

the, you see all the voters and you don't see like the meetings with like the greasy, like

donors and stuff, you know the the billionaires and the

you know i care which was i think former clinton operatic or something said like there's only one

primary that matters and it's like among like about 500 people in washington who are certain very

elite members of the press and certain donors and very high ranking like party mandarin's and that's the primary and everything

else you know and that's not entirely true i mean it's it's definitely not true when you have actual
