Well, just as we asked them to do, our superdelegate patrons this week, the elect of Michael

and Us Nation, who contribute $10 a month, they put on the table an object that I think

really forces us to confront one of the most profound and important questions of our era.

And that is whether the film Love Actually is harmless holiday fun or a dangerously reactionary and malevolent film whose adoption

as a holiday classic epitomizes everything that is wrong with the world and with our era.

As always, I would like to seek a third way.

I did want to talk a little bit about the film Don't Look Up, which I mean, by now, it's probably

still either in the top two or three streaming titles on Netflix right now. It's a film that I was,

I don't know, 10 days later so in watching. After all the discourse about it, I was absolutely dreading

watching it. I have to say, given the mixed reaction I'd heard, given the, you know, 56% rating on Rotten Tomatoes or whatever it is, I was quite worried the film was going to be bad and was very relieved that I didn't find it bad at all.

I actually thought it was quite good.
