Well, speaking of 2016, I would like to take us all back there right now. We are nearing the end of the

Trump era, and I felt it appropriate to see the era out by revisiting one of the canonical,

well, canonical is a grand word for what we watch this week, but, you know, a quintessential,

let's say, example of 2016 resistance kitsch.

I am talking about the funny or die.com comedy film, Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal,

the movie.

It was die for me, by the way.

My wife, the Czechoslovakian immigrant.

Ivana Trump.

Are you a princess?

Not hardly.

So Donald has me working all the day at the casino.

This movie, the Art of the Deal movie, is basically just 50 minutes of alt comedians and slumming movie stars

reciting things that Donald Trump did. didactically and the humor comes from

the fact that they're like dressed as Roy Cohen or whatever. Yeah, I mean the jokes are things like

Johnny Depp as Donald Trump on the phone and he's saying like, you know, he's saying to various

kids that appear in the movie, more on that in a second, but he's saying to various kids in the movie, successful people, you know, you know, they're successful because

they're on the phone all the time. And, you know, then when he's on the phone, he says stuff like,

hi, Lee I Okoka. Yeah, we're both rich white men. So yeah, didactic is right. I mean, I guess those things are supposed to be jokes, but they're certainly not very funny.

Or there's that part where there's a boy who tells him, my father died in Vietnam. He's a

hero. And then Johnny Depp as Trump says, maybe it's more heroic if they don't die in Vietnam.

Very funny. You know, Donald Trump wasn't a real troop? He didn't go to Vietnam.
