In Conversation with me about the life and times of Inky Montaigne.

Inky Montaim is my dear friend.

He is my housemate.

He is my compadre, my compatriot.

We sat down to have this conversation about him coming to a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or ASD later in his life.

I'm going to give a content warning that this story features weirdness

and discussions about dissociation and existing on the brink of reality.

If that is something that you find triggering, that you find can take you close to or beyond,

the limits of your sanity, you're going to be tested if you choose to continue to listen.

Also, I think he uses some fairly strong self-deprecating language to refer to himself related to his own neurodivergence

and also one of the more upsetting ablest slurs. Lastly, it will become important to know that

Inki went through some pretty dramatic life changes. At one point I talked about how hard his last year has been.

We don't go into any detail, but I'll just say here that

Inky lost virtually everything that brought him comfort and security in his life.

Overnight, he lost his wife of 17 years, he lost his cats,

he lost his home, he lost virtually all of 17 years. He lost his cats. He lost his home.
