Summary

I'm joined by South Asian Therapist Fatema Jivanjee-Shakir, LMSW, to discuss the nuances of South Asian dating culture and how much emphasis our society places on marriage. We discuss the shame and secrecy around dating in South Asian culture, how individuals are expected to not date in their teenage years and get married in their early twenties, the intersection of food and body image with dating and relationships, and more. Fatema shares advice on how to become more confident in your own skin and identify your own values so you can live the life that feels most right for you.
