This morning, new developments as the attention surrounding Alec Murdoch's double murder trial now turns the spotlight onto the unsolved death of his surviving Sun Buster's classmate, Stephen Smith.

I mean, I definitely think he was murdered.

In a new interview with our ABC affiliate WCIV, first responder Tommy Moore now recalling

when he found Stephen's body in the middle of a road.

Before I could get out the car good, Connor said, no, no, that's not a wreck, it's a murder.

Authorities classifying Stephen as a victim of a hit and run, but more saying from what he saw, it didn't look like Smith was hit by a car.

There's two things that come to my mind, either he was murdered there or he was murdered elsewhere and dropped there.

The family of Stephen Smith now raising over $80,000 to exhumed the 19 year old's body for an independent autopsy.

My hope is that we can find the right people that we need to just start from the beginning and to get us answers.

And Murdoch filed a response to a lawsuit regarding his former housekeeper's death.

He's once again admitting to lying.

Insurance company not unless, suing the former low country lawyer, claiming he stole millions of dollars meant for his former

housekeeper's family.

Gloria Satterfield, who you see here died, the Murdoch home after a fall in 2018. Last month, Murdoch

filed for an extension, saying being in prison affected his ability to take part in the case.

And now he's answering, saying he lied about some details the day of her fall, including

the Murdoch's dog caused it. He admits to making false statements to the insurance company and that he, quote, misused

vulnerable persons who trusted him admitting the money from the settlement went to an account

that he owned rather than the Satterfield family.

And one of the things Murdoch is denying the allegations he co-conspired with anyone else to get the money.
