There's a new face in the White House press room.

Her name is Caroline Levitt.

She made her debut as the White House Press Secretary for Donald Trump's second term.

She promised frequent communication with the press.

She also answered questions about the freeze on federal grants and the administration's effort to deport illegals.

And she said her role is to translate Trump's messages into policy and the

political implications, but also to tell the truth. No notes. No binder. Yeah, no notes. It's kind of

like this, me with this show. Off the top of her head, right? Somebody made a binder for her like,

you do a template for this show. And then she's just like,'s fine i don't need it i'm good i wonder if she was like where she walks out there she looks at her people like what are we

doing today how we do every segment here what are we doing well it was interesting to see the difference

between her and uh carine jean pierre do you remember when carine jean pierre made her debut she was like i

realized the importance of me being here i I'm the first black, African-American

lesbian. And then when Caroline Levitt walked out, she just said, hi, how are we doing? And got down to

business. Well, look, I mean, she didn't make it about her. It's, uh, that's a thing, you and I had this

conversation. That's a thankless job. And I don't know why any reasonable person would

want it. Tony Katz has said for years out of this is his dream job. Yeah, I know. I cannot believe

Tony Katz was a little nutty. Well, but I also can't believe Tony would ever carry water for anybody

else. But he's said for years that that's his dream job. You're defending kind of a wild card in Trump, although they were defending a dementia patient

for the past four years.

So I guess a wild card's much better.

She did a fine job yesterday.

I mean, it sounded like, from what I heard, there were no slip-ups.
