Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12th, 1809, in a one-room log cabin in Kentucky and had no formal education,

but then went on to be what many historians considered to be the best president in the history of the United States.

In 1831, just three years before entering politics, Lincoln witnessed a slave auction

in New Orleans and was disgusted by it. After witnessing the slave auction, Lincoln vowed to do
