All right now in Scotland, President Trump and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, are set to speak to the media ahead of a private meeting on trade.

Let's go right to NBC News. White House correspondent Yamish Al-Sindor.

Yamish, I mean, hard question to ask anybody these days, but what are we expecting to happen in this

when we see the president and Ursula von der Leyen?

What we expect to happen is for these two leaders to lay out that they are going to try to have a

conversation where they end up with some sort of trade deal between the United States and the

European Union, which, by the way, is one of the biggest trading partners of the United States. The president this morning saying it was a 50,

50 chance of whether or not he was able to sort of come to a deal with them. And I guess we're

seeing them now in the room. So I'll go back to you out. Well, yeah, let's listen in to see

whether they say anything. They seem to be taking some questions. Let's listen.

Well, thank you very much. It's a beautiful Sunday in Scotland, and we thought we could cut things short and certainly travel distance, right, by having our meeting here.

So we discussed options, and I just, it's an honor to have the president of the European Union with us.

Ursula has been, uh, really done a terrific job for them, not for us, but she's done a great

job. And, uh, she's highly respected by us also. And, uh, we look forward to talking to see if we

can do something.

We've had a very good relationship over the years,

but it's been a very one-sided transaction,

very unfair to the United States.

And I think both sides want to see fairness,

but it's been a very, very one-sided deal than it shouldn't be.

And so we're here with her very brilliant staff, and hopefully we'll resolve a few issues.

But it's a great honor.
