President Trump in the Oval Office signing a bill that would fund the government through the end of September.

We've succeeded in passing a fiscally responsible package that actually cuts wasteful federal spending while supporting critical programs for the safety, security, and prosperity of the American people.

The $1.2 trillion measure passed the House this morning with a vote of $217 to 21.21 Republicans sided with Democrats in voting against it while 21 Democrats voted in favor.

But the fight is not over. The package only funds the Department of Homeland Security for two weeks.

Democrats are calling for more reforms for the Department of Homeland Security.

They do have some good ideas, I think. But I've got a better idea, it's your idea, in sanctuary cities.

South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsay Graham, one reform that has been put in place, ICE agents in Minneapolis,

will begin wearing body cameras and that policy will be rolled out nationwide as funding becomes

available. Asked about nationalizing elections,

the president urged Congress to give the federal government

a bigger role in administering elections across the country.

If a state can't run an election,

I think the people behind me should do something about it.

The president with the comments,

while surrounded by Republican lawmakers,

states have the power to administer elections,

as outlined in the

Constitution. Some Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune, have said they're not
