The American Medical Association applauded today when the president said doctors are rewarded for the quantity of the care they provide, not the quality.

But applause may or may not result in support for a so-called public option to private insurance.

a half million Iranians defied a ban on political protest today.

They were allowed to hear from the official loser in last week's election.
