Biden as he toured hurricane-ravaged areas of Florida and Georgia today,

calling on Congress to put an aid package together to help

those impacted by Hurricane Helene. In the meantime he says help is on the ground.

FEMA teams are knocking literally knocking on doors to register folks so they can receive assistance to buy

what they urgently need.

The Biden administration announced a federal commitment to foot the bill for debris removal

and emergency protective measures for six months in

North Carolina and Georgia. Hurricane Kirk has strengthened into a category four storm and forecasters

say waves from the storm could cause life-threatening

surf and rip current conditions on the East Coast over the weekend. The jury has

reached verdict for three former Memphis police officers charged with violating the federal civil rights of Tyrene Nichols, a black man who was pulled from his car during a traffic stop in January 2023 and beaten by six officers. The beating caught on tape. Nichols later died at a hospital.

After nearly a month long trial jurors informed the judge they had agreed on their verdicts in the case
