Your thoughts on Eisenhower and his middle way and the circumstances under which he took office back in the early 1950s.

Well, I must say it was an emotional day I know for the whole country.

Just the sheer relief of getting

through this period where so many really dire predictions were made about the security situation.

So thank goodness for that. And I must say that I was most interested in now President Biden's

inaugural address. It had a great deal of resonance, I think, with a theme that Eisenhower

put front and center in his two-term presidency, and that is the middle way.
