Despite it being his third time on the show,

he's back with a new book called They Will Beat the Memory Out of Us. The book reads as a reflection

on decades of activism and the constant churning of new faces and voices and how this impacts

movement building. As an aged millennial, this book hits close to home and articulates many of my own

feelings and experiences, and I think offers some really important questions we should be asking,

I think this is your third time on the show, which makes you the guest who has been on the most.

So that's pretty cool.

I remember coming across your book, How Nonviolence Protects the State when I was like 18 or 19.

I was like, oh, man, this guy is on to something.

And yeah, it's cool to be able to chat with you about this stuff and you just released this

new book.

So for folks that are not as familiar with you, could you just give us a quick background

and what your new book is and kind of what it was about?

Yeah.

So the new book, there Will Beath a Memory out of

us is about collective memory. It's about ruptures in continuity, the loss of intergenerational

continuity in our struggles, about the loss of memory. Really, it's sort of a, it's of like a written from a place of like heartbreak with

the movement written from like yeah like a place of like a lot of pain and sadness just seeing

like the you know the longer that I've been in the struggle and the more that I've gotten to know
