Hello and welcome to the PFF fantasy podcast. I'm your host Nathan Yaki. We just had a full week of preseason games. I know a lot of backups played in those games, but there were a couple of games where the starters played so I do have a number of takeaways and I will be going over the top ones right now and we will start with the Tennessee Titans where at running back we saw

0:20.5

Tony Pollard take all 10 snaps on the first drive with the starters, which was pretty alarming for anyone who is trusting in Tagee Spears having a significant role this season.

0:31.0

Then we saw Spears take seven of the

0:33.3

snaps on the second drive with the starter still in the game and then Spears

0:37.4

came back in with the backups for just three plays, was the primary

0:41.5

runner slash target on all three of them and then he was done for the preseason and I in general was not that alarm for about the Titans back field in this one a lot of teams end up having their starting running back on the first drive a backup running back on another drive and they are not rotating their running backs how they usually see them in the regular season.

1:03.0

This is pretty typical for most preseason teams.

1:06.0

We even saw in the first week of the preseason,

1:08.0

the Titans do more or less what we do expect in the season

1:12.0

and that's the two of them rotating in and out every couple of plays with Pollard ending up with more snaps and rushing situations.

1:18.8

Spears playing more in passing situations. Some people were also concerned about the fact that

1:25.2

Pollard did take one snap on Spears Drive. It was a fourth in one play where it was a

1:31.5

bit of a unique play. It was an unbalanced line where a tackle was lined up on next to the other tackle, two tight ends lined up, one of them where the tackle usually lines up a pretty specific play that I would not be surprised

1:44.8

if the Titans have only practiced a little bit and maybe it was just Pollard who has

1:49.4

practiced that play before if it was more of a typical play,

1:55.5

a run down the middle, outside zone,

1:57.4

whatever it may be where these running backs

1:59.3

have run those plays hundreds of times in their career, then I would have been a little bit more

2:04.6

alarming, but even then I expect Pollard to take more of the short-yarded situations.

2:09.7

We just saw Spears, the play before on third and one take a short yard

2:13.0

situation so it seemed pretty clear that the running backs were just

2:16.9

getting more experience and all of the kind of plays not just the plays that we
