Welcome back. This is the Big Blue Banzer, New York Giants football podcast. I'm Dan Schneier,

0:12.2

joined as always my ghost, Nick Volano. It's my favorite time of the year because there was

0:15.7

actual Giants football on tonight. I know it's the preseason, but this is what I love to do. I love to get in here with Nicolato, unprepared, we don't talk about it, and we just bounce ideas off each other. That's what we do. We just talk about what we saw, bounce ideas off each other about this football team. And it was exciting to get that opportunity again tonight. It's always really fun, the first game of the year. that's for the preseason and the regular season for me. I don't know if you have those milestones, Nick, but those are always the two for me. And it was good to watch tonight because you can come away from this in my mind, at least Nick, and I'll get your opinion on this in a second, feeling pretty positive for a multitude of reasons, in my opinion,

0:55.2

but the main one being, and this is where I want to start, and we'll find out where you want

0:58.4

to start, Nick, the main one being the offensive line. To me, not only did the offensive

1:03.0

line move more in sync, more together as a unit, there weren't as many F-ups, then I've

1:09.7

seen in multiple years. I can't even really think back to a year where I remember plus offensive line play. I thought about it, Nick, and I thought about the Seattle game from 2020, where Wayne Gaulman went on the ground. And I feel like that was probably the last time. I felt like the unit was moving so well and so in sync. But the Giants unit today, Nick, 33 carries on the ground.

1:29.7

This includes the end rounds, 177 yards and a touchdown. That's 5.4 yards per carry. Wow. That's

1:36.6

where I start. Just wow. Yeah, I thought the offensive line in general was impressive on that

1:42.4

first drive for the most part.

1:47.8

And when you look at the stats at the end of the day,

1:51.1

Antonio Williams had the most yards.

1:53.3

He averaged 6.8 yards per carry.

1:54.4

He had the touchdown.

1:56.3

Nine carries for 61 yards.

1:59.0

That was a lot of that was done in the second half.

2:04.1

I ultimately think that the New York Giants' offensive line is going to be able to run block. I think they have a lot of that was done in the second half. I ultimately think that the New York Giants' offensive line is going to be able to run block.

2:06.1

I think they have a lot of plus run blockers out there.

2:12.8

I have some concerns about pass protection with certain players, and I'm not overly concerned about it.

2:13.3

I was intrigued on that first drive in the beginning of that second drive, and then Daniel

2:17.0

Jones took a sack. He got hit low, which was a really weird looking hit. I think that was either not. I think that was on the second drive as well. So I don't think it was perfect by any stretch of the imagination. No, definitely not perfect. And I do remember that hit, man. That was a little weird to watch i was nervous for jones
